# Subscriptions

**Subscriptions** are one of the ways to monetize Telegram channels. You can create a subscription for both private and public channels.

**You can create subscriptions for**:

If you have a **private channel**, a subscription allows you to access your channel and the content in it.

If you have a **public channel**, a subscription allows you to support your channel with regular payments.
